PHILOSOPHY

ad libitum sees itself as a space for new musical creations, as a platform on which the seemingly impossible, but innovative can happen. An ingenious, witty (in the original sense of the word) and totally creative team is devoting itself to this project, without reservation and is equipped with the experience and knowledge that comes from many projects that have already become reality.

We design festivals, one-off concerts and concert series and create accompanying informative websites. Our primary desire, though, is to create events. We are currently involved in one of our most complex projects – the OAO, the Orchestra Academy Ossiach.

ad libitum hopes to cause a revolution, even an uprising, but not by casting aside tradition. No, we want to blaze new trails and attract interest from those who, consciously or unconsciously, are waiting to hear from us. And we will open up musical dimensions that they could only previously dream of for those who want to get involved.

As far as ad libitum is concerned, its remit is introducing its audiences to previously shadowy realms of music. We value ancient music and have comprehensive experience in this area. We love the Classical era and have been able to implement interesting Classical projects. We love the Romantics, many of whose genres offer previously unimagined opportunities. And we swear by new and contemporary music, which brings to life things that were inconceivable centuries ago.
In the process we not only concentrate on the music, the repertoire and its interpreters, but we also try to work with the environment, to bring together music, time and space in a moment, to merge the beginning and end of the work.
In addition to discovering new concert venues, we also use unusual "aids" intended to appeal to other senses, indeed to every human sense, to restore music's originality and thus to open up new opportunities for surprise, uniqueness, creation and recreation.
